Transactions

OLB Tarron Jackson was promoted to the active roster. Jackson, originally a sixth-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021, appeared in 21 games in his career with 18 tackles and one sack.

TE Feleipe Franks added to the active squad. The former quarterback turned tight end remains in Carolina. He has appeared in both of the Panthers’ games this year and played four total offensive snaps. His only stat as a Panthers is a penalty for an offensive facemask violation.

OLB Eku Leota signed for the training team. The 2023 undrafted free agent appeared in eight games for the Panthers last year, recording four tackles, and has appeared in both of Carolina’s games this season, recording four tackles and a sack.

TE Jordan Matthews signed to the practice squad. The veteran was released by the Panthers on Tuesday and re-signed to the practice squad on Wednesday.

S Russ Yeast was signed to the training squad. Yeast was selected in the seventh round by the Los Angeles Rams in 2022. In his first two NFL seasons, he played in 32 games, 10 of them as a starter, and posted an impressive 81 tackles and five passes defensed. Many reports are calling the release of the young, promising player “surprising.” The Panthers were smart to snag him, hoping that Yeast’s career will continue to ascend in Carolina. Pun intended.
