Shots fired at house on Washington Street in Braintree, MA – NBC Boston

Dozens of shots were fired at a house in Braintree, Massachusetts, early Sunday morning. Police believe it was a targeted incident.

Braintree police said they are investigating the incident in the 2000 block of Washington Street.

Angry neighbors told NBC10 Boston that the first round of gunfire occurred at about 5 a.m., followed by a second, absolutely horrific round of gunfire at about 7:45 a.m.

A neighbor showed us the Ring video but only allowed us to record the audio out of fear for his safety. We counted nearly 25 shots.

A video shows no fewer than 31 pieces of evidence scattered on the sidewalk near the home’s porch as several investigators combed the crime scene on Sunday.

According to the police, this is apparently not a random act.

Still, neighbors want answers and want the man responsible put behind bars. They say dozens of shots fired at a home around 8 a.m. show the audacity of the suspects.

This happened in a quiet neighborhood with lots of families and a park nearby. Neighbors say the people who live in the house that was shot at are polite and none of this makes any sense.

A neighbor says he believes he saw two shooters driving away in an older dark-colored Nissan Altima.

Further details were not released as the investigation is ongoing. More information will be available at a later date, police said.
