Sunday Night Football Week 3: Picks and Open Thread

Sunday Night Football Week 3: Picks and Open Thread

I’m writing this before the Carolina Panthers face the Las Vegas Raiders. If you didn’t quit football forever after that game and stuck around until Sunday night, you can watch the Panthers’ division rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, take on the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. The Falcons pulled off a dramatic win over the Eagles on Monday night last week, and in the most uncharacteristic way possible. We’ll see if they can do the same against Patrick Mahomes.

As always, in our brave new world of comprehensive sports betting, it’s easier to bet on games than watch them. Find current odds for all Week 1 NFL games here on FanDuel.

The Falcons have had ups and downs to start the season, starting out more mediocre than strong. Still, they came out of nowhere to win on the road in Philadelphia. It was a win very similar to the Chiefs, and now they host those Chiefs as three-point underdogs. The Chiefs are 2-0, but have not been dominant by any means. Against the Ravens, they were on the verge of going to overtime and needed defensive pass interference on fourth-and-16 to set up their game-winning drive in Week 2.

It looks like a game that will be decided by a last-second field goal, so I’m going with the Falcons +3.

Now it’s your turn to speak. As always, use this space to talk about the action as it develops.

You know the game.

This is now an open thread!
