Derrick Henry “felt a little good” because he played well in Dallas

Ravens running back Derrick Henry lives and trains in Dallas during the offseason, so some expected the Cowboys to court Henry when he became a free agent in the offseason.

Henry never got a calland his only game in Dallas this season was when the Ravens visited on Sunday. The Cowboys got a good dose of what they’re missing.

Henry ran 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-25 victory. The Cowboys did their best to catch up and cut Baltimore’s 28-6 lead in the fourth quarter, but they only ran for 51 yards in the game and a more effective running attack might have spared them a furious comeback.

After the game, Henry said he had a little more pep in his step because of the venue.

“I stick to a high standard“I really wanted to come here and make an impact with the way I play that gives us a chance to win,” Henry said via the team’s website. “Being in Dallas – this is where I spend most of my offseason. It definitely felt good today.”

In his own comments after the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team couldn’t afford it Henry was under the salary cap when he was not acquired in the offseason, and that shortfall cost the Cowboys dearly on Sunday.
