Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans are on a mission to save Christmas.

In a new action-packed trailer for “Red One,” released Sunday by Amazon MGM Studios, a bounty hunter played by Chris Evans is kidnapped and taken to the North Pole, where he is informed that Santa Claus has been kidnapped.

Evans and Johnson, who plays the North Pole’s security chief, team up in the trailer for the action comedy, which follows the duo in their search for the missing happy man.

“Red One” is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, November 15, 2024.

“Are you saying Santa Claus was kidnapped?” Evans asks after learning that “Red One” (or Santa Claus) was kidnapped.

The trailer explains that Evans will team up with Johnson, whom he vocally dislikes, to track down everyone’s favorite Christmas icon.

“You’re mine until we find him,” actress Lucy Liu Evans tells her in the trailer.

The magic of the North Pole is fully palpable throughout the clip: a polar bear with human characteristics dominates the image in several shots, pantries function as portal systems, and several fantasy creatures appear in the search for the “rescue of Christmas.”

According to a synopsis for the film, after Santa Claus is kidnapped, Johnson’s character “must team up with the world’s most notorious bounty hunter,” played by Evans, “on an action-packed mission around the globe to save Christmas.”

Other leading roles in the film, directed by Jake Kasdan, include JK Simmons as Santa Claus, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt and Lucy Liu.
