Demi Moore resorted to extreme measures to lose weight after giving birth to her child.
The actress, now 61, revealed that after the birth of her second child with her then-husband Bruce Willis, she cycled 30 miles from the family home in Malibu to a Hollywood studio and only made the journey once more when she was finished on the day of filming.
“I put so much pressure on myself,” Moore admitted in an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning,” “and I was told many times to lose weight. All of that may have been embarrassing and humiliating, but I did that to myself.”

The topic of long bike rides she took while filming Indecent Proposal in 1993 came up, and Moore added that her daughter Scout was “5 or 6 months old” at the time.
“So I fed them all night, got up in the dark with a trainer and a headlamp, rode my bike all the way to Paramount or wherever, even to our location, and shot a full day, which is usually 12 hours, and then started all over again.”
She said: “Just the thought of what I’ve done to my body is so crazy, so ridiculous.”
“I put so much pressure on myself and was told to lose weight. All of this may have been embarrassing and humiliating, but I did it to myself.”
CBS correspondent Tracy Smith said Moore thought “it was what was needed at the time,” and she agreed, but added, “But when you look back, you think, ‘Was it really that important? Probably not.'”
Moore added: “But at that time, it was everything to me.”

Moore had three daughters with Willis: Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. After the couple divorced in 2000, she married actor Ashton Kutcher in 2005. They divorced in 2013 and she never remarried.
When asked what she thinks when she looks in the mirror these days, she replied, “It varies. Some days I look and think, ‘Wow, that’s pretty good,’ and other days I find myself over-analyzing and hyper-focusing on things I don’t like.”
She continued, “The difference is that now I can catch myself. I can say, ‘Yeah, I don’t like this saggy skin.’ But you know, it is what it is, so I’m going to make the best of it instead of chasing what isn’t.”

When she was younger, Moore said, she always complained that her face was “chubby” and “without edges,” and said with a laugh that it’s “just loose now.”
“I wouldn’t mind having some of that plumpness back in the right places,” she remarked.
During her interview, Moore also discussed her current relationship with Willis. In February 2023, his family announced that he had been diagnosed with dementia.
Moore explained that she visits him weekly when she is in town, saying, “The most important thing is to meet him where he is and not get attached to who he was and what he was like, because that just puts you in a situation of loss, as opposed to being in the present, meeting him where he is, and finding the joy and the love, just everything that he is, where he is.”
