San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams odds, expert picks, how to watch: Winless LA is a big underdog at home

Of all the NFL teams that started the season 0-2, the Los Angeles Rams face the most desperate situation heading into Week 3. Not only are they coming off a 31-point loss to Arizona, but they now have to play one of the league’s best teams and a division rival – the San Francisco 49ers – without their two best wide receivers (Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp) who are out with injuries. Given that situation, it’s probably no surprise that they’re considered massive touchdown underdogs at home.

Coach Sean McVay and the Rams will have their hands full against the 49ers, with Kupp and Nacua both out.

The 49ers are also struggling with injury problems, with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and George Kittle out. But they still have Brandon Aiyuk and a rising star in running back Jordan Mason to carry the ball. Mason has been one of the biggest surprise stars of the season while filling in for McCaffrey. He has already rushed for 247 yards and reached the 100-yard mark in each of his first two starts.

The Rams defense is still trying to find its footing as it adds many new faces this season while also dealing with the retirement of future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald.

The 49ers should still be able to score points with the players in the lineup. The question will be whether Matthew Stafford can do enough to keep up with Tyler Johnson and Demarcus Robinson as his two best wide receivers.
