Bengals WR Tee Higgins (hamstring) is no longer on the injury list but will play Monday night against Commanders

Higgins has been an integral part of Cincinnati’s rise over the past few seasons. The big receiver is a nightmare opponent for any defensive back and Higgins has taken advantage of that, posting consecutive 1,000+ yard seasons in Years 2 and 3, and also being a key contributor during the Bengals’ recent postseason runs.

However, the connection between Higgins and Burrow hasn’t been seen since Week 9 of last season, as Burrow suffered a season-ending wrist injury in 2023. However, the fifth-year WR isn’t worried about his quarterback being rusty after a good week of practice.

“I still have chemistry with Joe,” Higgins said. “Today at practice it felt good. It wasn’t a step back, so just keep going.”

Higgins’ presence comes at an ideal time as the Bengals look to earn their first win of the 2024 season. It should also provide more opportunities for Burrow’s No. 1 wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, who has drawn a lot of double coverage in the first two games.

“We’ve got to take advantage of the moments we have in front of us now (practicing as an intact group),” Chase said Friday. “I’m just ready for the big play, that one big play that’s going to give me all my confidence, the team’s confidence, the coaches’ confidence, and everybody’s going to feel good … It’s just good to know (Higgins) is back, to have him with that much energy and just to have the guys back out there. That’s all. It feels good again.”

Cincinnati (0-2) hosts the Commanders (1-1) at 5:15 p.m. ET in a Monday Night Football doubleheader.
