Sports radio host Mike Francesa has questioned how dedicated Travis Kelce is to football while “strutting around the world” with his girlfriend Taylor Swift.

Kelce’s future in the NFL is in the spotlight following his recent subpar performance for the Kansas City Chiefs in their win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.

After Swift missed one of his games for the first time this season, the Chiefs tight end was once again unable to make an impact, recording just four catches over 30 yards at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

NFL analysts and fans, including Francesa, are convinced that he is now approaching retirement at age 34.

In the latest episode of his “Mike Francesa Podcast,” the American radio host questioned Kelce’s devotion to football in light of his romance with Swift, describing his life with the pop star as one big “photo opportunity.”

“As an organization and as a coach, you have to question how dedicated Kelce is to the sport right now,” Francesa said. “He has a lot going on in his life. His life has taken a radical turn.”

“You see him in commercials, you see him at photo shoots, you see that he’s now very careful about how he dresses… and where the paparazzi are and everything else.”

“It changed his life. And you wonder what role football and football preparation played in that.”

He later added: “At this stage of his career, you obviously wonder where he is with his commitment and preparation, because his performance has dropped dramatically. And it’s not just, ‘Oh, the Chiefs are moving on from Kelce.’ It’s more than that.”

“It’s extremely human. His life has changed. He now struts around the world with one of the most famous people in the world. His life is a photo opportunity.”

Kelce was caught on television cameras wearing a particularly pathetic expression during the Chiefs’ win over the Falcons on Sunday night, and the clip went viral.

In three games this season, he has recorded just eight catches for a total of 69 yards and zero touchdowns, marking one of his worst starts to an NFL season ever.

After his first three games in 2023, Kelce had 17 pass catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

NBC chief analyst Cris Collinsworth admitted he was “baffled” by his recent poor performance on Sunday night after watching him struggle in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Collinsworth commented: “I’m just speechless. I mean, one game, so what. Two games, OK.”

“This is the third game now where we haven’t seen the magic of (Patrick) Mahomes and Kelce, and I can’t really explain it.”

Rodney Harrison, another NBC analyst, attributed Kelce’s recent lackluster performance to his other commitments.

He said: “He’s busy. He’s got a lot on his plate. Think about it. He’s doing a lot of different things. As far as the media goes, he’s playing football, he’s got other things going on.”

The 34-year-old looked miserable on Sunday evening as his struggles continued

“In a situation like this, you have to forget everything else and concentrate 100 percent on football. That is the main responsibility.”

“The guys are playing with him. Jesse Bates did a great job against him tonight.”

“He (Kelce) just doesn’t have the same speed. He’s still a good player, but I don’t think he’s a great player.”
