Juan Hernandez (Getaway Car, winner)“You know what? When I came into the gate, it looked like he had a lot of speed against him. But I wanted to take advantage of my position. The gate opened, my horse broke out in front and I decided to let him go. He was very comfortable in the lead. He’s really fast, so he left everyone behind. I just waited until the quarter pole, where he pricked his ears. I asked him to get back up and he did. I can’t wait for the next race.”

Bob Baffert (Getaway Car, winner)
“This guy was a lot of fun. Great name and he’s fast. He didn’t let up. He’s got a nice stride. Just a nice way of doing it. He’s by Curlin and Curlins usually get better with age. The good horses can go the distance.”
