Customer shoots Sonic manager in restaurant in San Antonio, Texas: Police

Texas police are investigating a fatal shooting after a fast-food customer allegedly killed an employee at the store over the weekend.

San Antonio police reported that the shooting occurred Sunday evening at a Sonic Drive-In in the northwest part of the city and claimed the life of the store manager.

Two people wanted in connection with the fatal shooting have been identified and located, the department announced on Facebook on Tuesday.

Police did not release their names or say whether they had been charged in connection with the case.

Coroner classifies Sonic manager’s death as homicide

The Bexar County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 33-year-old Daniel Shrewsbury.

According to preliminary autopsy results released by the office, the victim died from a gunshot wound.

The death in Shrewsbury was ruled a homicide, the office reported.

A Sonic spokesperson issued the following statement to USA TODAY on Wednesday:

“We are aware of the incident that occurred at our San Antonio franchise location. The franchisee is cooperating fully with police in the investigation. As this is an ongoing investigation, we will defer further comment to local police.”

Motive for shooting initially unclear

The motive for the fatal shooting was not immediately known and police have not released any further details about the murder.

The case remains under investigation.
