The Seaside Park Police Department has released its latest police report, which provides a sampling of the calls the department responded to over the past week. The total number of 911 calls handled by the department during the same period was 379.

First Aid – While on patrol in the area of Porter Ave. and Ocean, officers were flagged down by a subject experiencing chest pains. Tri-Boro First Aid arrived and the subject was evaluated on scene by EMS and transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.
Social check – While on patrol in the area of O St. and Lake Ave. after-hours, officers noticed a woman lying in the sand near the park. Police made contact with the individual to make sure she was OK. The woman was OK and did not require medical attention. Police escorted her home safely.
Hit and run – While patrolling the municipal parking lot at 2 a.m., the parking enforcement officer noticed a vehicle hit a parked car and fled the scene. The officer made a note of the incident and informed a supervisor, who was able to locate the vehicle involved in the accident and issued the driver a citation for leaving the scene of the accident and failure to report the accident.

Harassment – Police responded to the area of G St. and Central because a woman rode up on an electric bike and began harassing her ex-boyfriend. Officers arrived, spoke to the caller about the incident, and gathered all the information needed to file a report. When police arrived, the woman was gone. The caller was explained how to proceed with complaints if she wished to do so.

Fire alarm – Police and Seaside Park Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the area of G St. and Central for a fire alarm. Police arrived and checked the exterior but could not find any visible smoke or flames. Fire Department arrived and was able to enter the home and use their equipment to determine that the home was safe. It turns out the alarm was faulty and went off in error.

Violation of the municipal statute – While patrolling the Stockton Avenue beach, officers observed two men swimming nude in the ocean. Police made contact with the two individuals, asked them to get dressed, and advised them of the county ordinance. Both individuals received a county summons for the violation.
Alarm system – Police rushed to the area of 13th and Ocean Avenue where a burglar alarm went off. Officers arrived and checked the home but were unable to find any signs of forced entry. However, police did find people inside the home. It was determined that these people were authorized to be on the property and that the alarm went off in error after the wrong code was entered.

Drunk subject – Police were dispatched to L St. Beach for a woman lying unconscious on the sand. Officers arrived and found the woman appearing intoxicated and disoriented. She was unable to answer questions and appeared “not quite right in the head” overall. Tri-Boro First Aid arrived and spoke with the woman, who was unable to adequately answer their questions. She was transported to Community Medical Center for further treatment.
