The video, uploaded to Twitter on June 28, shows the woman opening a bowl of ice cream and running her tongue over the surface of the dessert at a Walmart store in Lufkin, Texas.

Under state law, the woman faces a fine of up to $14,000 and a prison sentence of between two and 20 years.

Police said on Facebook that the investigation was still ongoing.

Gerald Williams, Lufkin’s public safety director, said the biggest concern is consumer safety.

“In this respect, we are happy that the contaminated product is no longer on the shelves,” he said.

Blue Bell, the maker of the ice cream contaminated by the woman, has removed all half-gallons of Tin Roof flavor from shelves at the Walmart in Lufkin.
