DANVERS, MA — The owner of a Danvers tobacco shop was left cleaning up the pieces of his store this weekend after he told multiple media outlets that thieves used a car to smash down his front door and stole merchandise from the Route 114 store early Sunday morning.
The robbery occurred at around 5 a.m. on Sunday. The owner told the media that the thieves only stole a supply of cigarettes and tobacco during the dramatic break-in.
North Shore news photographer Stanley Forman said on his social media account that the car used in the attack was found later Sunday morning in Middleton.

According to media reports, there may be a connection between the robbery in Danvers and another robbery on Sunday on the North Shore.
As of Monday morning, Danvers police had not released any statement regarding the robbery or any related arrests.
