Local food park in Austin asks the public for help after break-in

A food truck park in Austin, Texas, is asking the public for help after reported break-ins and vandalism occurred over the weekend.

On Monday, The Vegan Nom — a plant-based food truck located at the Vegan Nom Food Park at 2324 E. Cesar Chavez St. in Austin — shared in an Instagram post that the food park was broken into and vandalized overnight on Sunday, August 11.

According to the Instagram post, which includes photos of the alleged “robbers” and video from one of the food park’s security cameras, The Vegan Nom’s neighbor in the food park, Ghoul Coffee Co., was hit the hardest.

“Our food park was vandalized and broken into last night by these two robbers, with @ghoulcoffeecompany suffering the most damage and loss,” read The Vegan Nom’s Instagram post, noting that they had filed a report with the Austin Police Department. “If you have any information, please DM us so we can pass it along. Stay safe Austin, and we hope to see you at the food park soon!”

The company, which produces plant-based products, did not provide any further details in its social media post about what exactly was vandalized or what specific items were stolen.

Ghoul Coffee Co. re-shared The Vegan Nom’s post on their Instagram story, noting that they are still open despite the unfortunate events that unfolded overnight. The Vegan Nom is also open.

If you have any information about the break-in or the two suspected perpetrators, send The Vegan Nom a message on Instagram.
