STAFFORD — The number of people coming to the library daily has increased dramatically. That makes every day extra special for Sandy and me. We love meeting people’s needs: finding books, answering questions, making copies, using computers, or just having a nice place to play with the kids. I’ve applied for several grants to buy more things for families to do together. I hope they give us the money to meet the needs of families in Stafford.

We want to thank everyone who came to our last Friday Night Gathering and donated money for new books. We received over $80 for new books! Thank you! Stafford is a very generous community.

As a side note to the community donations, I was excited to hear that they hope to create a nice gathering place in the Stafford Mercantile building. Future plans include perhaps a restaurant with pickleball courts and other fun things to do.

August 9th was National Book Lovers Day. The South Central Kansas Library System reminds everyone to celebrate the joy of reading and the magic that books bring to our lives, and to continue sharing the love of books with others!

We celebrate books every day at Nora’s Place. A good book can lift you out of your daily routine and free you from the anxiety of daily decisions.

We love the activities we have incorporated into Nora’s Place to meet the needs of the community, but never forget the power of a good book to free you from everyday worries and stress.
