Schnuck Markets, Inc. announced today that the remodel of a former Eatwell Market store in Columbia, Missouri has been completed and that the location is now a full-service Schnucks store. Schnucks Providence customers will immediately notice the changes, which include expanded product offerings throughout the store and new decor and signage. The store will remain open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Providence location was acquired by Lucky’s Market in 2020 following a bankruptcy. Schnucks originally entered Columbia in 1970 with the acquisition of a Bettendorf-Rapp store located next to the current Providence location.

That location closed in 1993 when Schnucks opened its current 6,200-square-foot store on Forum Boulevard. The 4,600-square-foot Battle Crossing location was added in 2022. In total, the three stores employ 243 people. Schnucks also operates a fourth store in Mid-Missouri in nearby Jefferson City, which opened in 2002.

Schnucks Providence is also offering a special Schnucks Rewards promotion for college students during the fall semester. All students who present their college ID and the Schnucks Rewards app at checkout will receive an additional $5 in Schnucks Rewards on their first five purchases in the store.

Founded in 1939 in St. Louis, Schnuck Markets, Inc. is a third- and fourth-generation, family-owned grocery retailer. Schnucks operates 114 stores, serving customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, and employs 12,000 people.
