A scratch-off ticket worth $2 million was purchased in San Jose, state lottery officials announced Monday.

According to officials, the Instant Prize Crossword Scratchers ticket was sold at Tuong Vi Ice Cream and Café on Alvin Avenue in East San Jose.

They identified the winner as Debi Nguyen.

It seemed as though certain scratch-off tickets had led to more big wins in California this summer, including one that extended a winning streak at a Ventura County liquor store.

According to state lottery officials, an Instant Prize Crossword ticket recently resulted in a $2 million win for Tomas Garcia. It was sold in Oxnard at Pat Holden Liquor on South A. Street.

And it is not the first time that shop owner George Jobeh has sold a scratch card that can make you a millionaire.

“This was the third big-win scratch-off ticket the store has sold, having previously sold two tickets with prizes totaling $1,000,000,” lottery officials said.

An even bigger jackpot was paid out on another game: California 200X Scratchers. Lottery officials said David Rodriguez recently won a whopping $10 million on a ticket he bought at a 7-Eleven on Sepulveda Boulevard in Culver City.

In San Bernardino County, officials said the California State Riches Scratchers game lived up to its name, with winner Calvin Smith purchasing his $5 million worth of scratch-off tickets at Joe’s Market in Victorville.

New prizes announced Monday included a $1 million jackpot on a Power 10 scratch-off ticket. Hector Guarchaj was identified as the lucky player, who purchased his ticket at Lee’s Liquor on 6th Street in Los Angeles.

In total, according to lottery officials, “six lucky California Lottery scratch-off tickets are taking home some great grand prizes this summer,” scratching off a combined $22 million in winnings.
