GAMBRILLS, MD — Michaels opened a craft store at the Crofton Station shopping center in Gambrills on Friday.

The soft launch took place last weekend, but the grand opening is next Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This is the 27th Michaels in Maryland and the fourth in Anne Arundel County. The others are in Annapolis, Glen Burnie and Hanover.

The new Michaels is located at 1161 Maryland Route 3 North, Suite 103. It is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Michaels partially filled the void left by Giant Food, which moved across the street in January 2023.

There have been some changes at Crofton Station since Giant moved.

The former Giant premises have now been divided into three stores. The Fresh Market grocery store will open in one of them by the end of the year. The other rooms will house a Snap Fitness gym.

A few units away, Always Ice Cream will soon open in the former Philly Pretzel Factory.

No exact opening dates have yet been announced by the other new tenants.

Other new stores that have opened since Giant’s departure include Chase Bank, Nekter Juice Bar, Taichi Bubble Tea and Sugaring NYC.
