PHOENIX –– August 12, 2024 — Nikola Corporation (Nasdaq: NKLA), a global leader in zero-emission transportation, energy and infrastructure solutions, continues to deliver HYLA fueling solutions through the HYLA brand to support the volume increase of its Class 8 hydrogen-powered electric trucks in Southern California, just off the 5 Freeway, one of the busiest truck routes in the U.S.

Located at 13443 Freeway Dr. in Santa Fe Springs, California, at Tom’s Truck Center, a key part of the Nikola sales and service dealer network, this new HYLA modular fueling station begins operations today and supports Nikola’s goal of offering 14 fueling solutions by year-end, providing our customers with a mix of HYLA and partner fueling stations.

Nikola continues to open fueling stations and deploy facilities based on anticipated demand. The primary goal is to stay ahead of the rollout of hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks to ensure that fueling solutions are ready and available for end-fleets.

“Nikola is committed to leading the hydrogen revolution by working with key industry partners to strengthen and expand our hydrogen supply chain. Our efforts to expand the HYLA fueling station infrastructure underscore our commitment to meet the increasing demand for hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks and advance the transition to zero-emission transportation,” said Ole Hoefelmann, President of Energy. “We thank the City of Santa Fe Springs, the Santa Fe Springs Fire Department and Tom’s Truck Center for their support in making this project a reality and advancing the HYLA hydrogen network.”

Complementing the infrastructure network is Nikola’s commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience by providing 24/7 support from dedicated HYLA ambassadors and operations engineers to ensure smooth and efficient refueling.

“We are excited to be the first in the U.S. to offer a hydrogen fueling station directly at our dealership to support the first wave of Nikola hydrogen fuel cell electric trucks now on the road,” said KC Heidler, President and CEO of Tom’s Truck Center. “Working with Nikola to make this possible also aligns perfectly with Tom’s Truck Center’s long-term commitment to zero-emissions transportation.”

The HYLA fueling network is structured to provide a diverse portfolio of solutions for Nikola’s hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles and other Class 8 customers, including modular and permanent HYLA stations, behind-the-fence options, and partnerships such as with FirstElement Fuel in Oakland, California.

With the addition of the Santa Fe Springs station, Nikola completes a key hydrogen fueling triangle in Southern California. This strategic location, along with stations in Ontario and Long Beach, now forms a robust network spanning multiple counties and serving a population of over 12 million people.*
