If you had to guess what the best drink in Indiana is, what would you say? I bet you’re wrong.
In Indiana, there are endless options when it comes to beverages. Juice, milk, soda, coffee, tea, even alcoholic beverages are available everywhere. Everyone has their own favorite drink. Personally, I have a problem with sweet tea. It’s my favorite drink. What do you prefer when you want to quench your thirst?
Well, the folks at Reader’s Digest teamed up with the website Taste of Home to find the best drink in every U.S. state. Some are pretty standard, while others you may never have heard of, especially if you’re not from that state. While Indiana’s “best drink” is one you’ve certainly heard of no matter where you’re from, it’s far from the drink any of us would expect.
Is this REALLY the best drink in Indiana?
Place your bets. What is the best drink in Indiana? Maybe you think it’s beer, sweetened tea, Coke, Mountain Dew, or maybe even a milkshake? Nope. Reader’s Digest claims the best drink in Indiana is none other than WATER!
Water. Really? Is that a given in Indiana? Indiana was the only state that listed water as the best drink. I know drinking lots of water to keep the body hydrated is good for the body, but is that the favorite drink of Indiana residents? I find it hard to believe that people in Indiana look for water when they open the fridge or go out to eat. Unless we’re just really stingy and want to save money when we eat out by ordering free water.
In any case, Reader’s Digest had this to say:
Lest we forget the most important method of hydration: Since 2007, H2O has been the official state beverage for Indiana residents, making them the only ones in the union to pay tribute to the essence of life.
I think we can all agree that this is not the best drink in Indiana. While it is the healthiest, I don’t think it is the favorite drink of Indiana residents. But what would you say is the best drink in Indiana? You already know my opinion.
