Grocery TV expands in-store retail media network in pharmacies

ShopRite Pharmacy launches Grocery TV in select pharmacies

NEW YORK, 13 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Grocery TV today announced the expansion of its in-store retail media network to pharmacies, providing brands and retailers with another key touchpoint to engage shoppers and provide pharmacy customers with valuable health-related information during their in-store visit. Grocery TV’s in-store digital pharmacy solution has been rolled out to a number of retailers in its network, including ShopRite Pharmacy, part of ShopRite, a leading regional grocer in the Northeast.

“For both retailers and brand advertisers, the pharmacy represents a valuable point of contact with customers, especially for products or services in the health, pharmaceutical and fitness sectors,” said Don OelkeCOO and co-founder of Grocery TV. “Many of the supermarkets in our network have pharmacies, so it was a natural next step to provide a tailored in-store retail media experience for that part of the store.”

Grocery TV’s curated content strategy for pharmacies includes new health and wellness-focused video channels, retailer messaging, and contextually relevant brand advertising to engage and educate customers as they wait in line or walk past the pharmacy. Retailers use Grocery TV’s content management system to launch and manage messaging in their pharmacy departments in real time.

Health and wellness brands can reach nearly 28 million customers in Grocery TV stores with pharmacies, or expand their reach by including stores near major pharmacies. Dwell time in the pharmacy is higher than other in-store touchpoints, giving retailers and brands more opportunity to share important health and pharmacy-related messages with customers waiting to pick up their prescriptions.

ShopRite stores that bring Grocery TV to their pharmacy space can leverage the retailer’s in-store media network to present prescription drug savings programs and pharmacy information and other health-related offerings to customers in-store.

“ShopRite Pharmacy is excited to expand its in-store retail media network to the pharmacy space with Grocery TV,” said Darren CaudillChief Sales Officer at Wakefern Food Corp., the retail cooperative and logistics and merchandising division of ShopRite stores. “They streamlined the process of setting up new touchpoints in our stores and made it easy for us to manage our in-store messaging through their content management system so we can provide important information to our ShopRite Pharmacy customers.”

Beyond the pharmacy space, Grocery TV offers retailers the ability to connect existing digital signage or deploy new digital signage as part of their in-store media network, opening up opportunities at key moments throughout the shopping journey. At each new touchpoint, Grocery TV works with retailers to deliver the best customer experience.
