A drive through town to some of the best food trucks in the Ithaca area

A drive through town to some of the best food trucks in the Ithaca area

This week, 14850 Dining is enjoying the outdoor weather with some of Ithaca’s best food trucks.

Babe’s Burger has spread to the area with burgers, fries and more at multiple locations, and the Babe’s truck is located in Fall Creek next to Northstar House Wednesday through Saturday afternoons and early evenings. The Babe’s truck is also a fixture at events, and cooking is done in the Deep Dive kitchen Friday through Monday.

The Silo Food Truck is at Liquid State Brewing Wednesday through Sunday and offers excellent chicken, mac & cheese, sticky rice and fries. Silo is now in its tenth year after debuting at the GrassRoots Festival in 2015!

Juicy’s Shanty came from Colorado this spring and serves slow-smoked BBQ delicacies, even vegan options, next to the fire station in Slaterville Springs, east of town on Route 79, Thursday through Saturday, as well as trips to the Varna Community Center or nearby events.

R&V Jamaican Cuisine is located just off Route 13 east of Ithaca near Route 366 and offers jerk chicken, oxtail stew and other Jamaican specialties for lunch Tuesday through Saturday.

Scooter’s BBQ serves grilled pork and brisket sandwiches, mac and cheese and more on Tuesdays at Music in the Hollow, then Wednesday through Friday evenings and for Sunday brunch at Hopshire Farm & Brewery.

Louie’s Lunch has been located on the north edge of the Cornell campus for over a century, serving hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, chips and milkshakes late into the night. Unfortunately, they are never available for lunch anymore.

Now open weekday lunch hours only, Circus Truck offers made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, some of the best burgers and steak sandwiches around, and Italian pasta dishes made fresh in the parking lot.

Yxi’s Arepas brings a mix of Venezuelan and Mexican cuisine to Ithaca’s West End, featuring homemade arepas, cornmeal cakes with various vegan, vegetarian and meaty fillings, as well as chips and fried plantains. They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from lunch to early evening.

And right next door is On the Street Pita, also open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and early dinner, with pita sandwiches like falafel and souvlaki, or turn the pita into a Greek salad.

We haven’t even mentioned the food trucks that come and go at events, or the taco joints and pop-up restaurants that are a little less predictable. And we may have missed a truck or two, too. I’m sure you’ll let us know.
