Woman robbed at Bushwick train station, police say

BROOKLYN, NY — A woman was robbed at a Bushwick train station late last month, police said.

The robbery occurred when a 27-year-old woman was waiting at the M station at Myrtle Avenue and Central Avenue around 12:40 a.m. on July 26 when she was approached from behind by a stranger, police said.

According to police, the suspect allegedly ripped two chains from the woman’s neck as she boarded the train, snatched them from her shortly before the doors closed and then fled the station on foot.

The woman was not injured in the attack, officials said.

Authorities said they are looking for a dark-skinned man who was last seen wearing a dark gray hoodie, dark pants, white sneakers and carrying a book bag.

Police released an image of a person they believe is connected to the incident and asked anyone with information about the incident to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or (for Spanish) 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
