A large video game store is planned in Lancaster County.

Just Press Play plans to open a 22,000-square-foot retail and event space at the former Volleyball Corner site at 2007 Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township near Dutch Wonderland and Tanger Outlets Lancaster.

The store is scheduled to open early next year.

Just Press Play sells video games, trading cards, toys, records and collectibles. The retailer has stores in Manheim Township and Manor Township in Lancaster County, and York Township in York County. Another store in Lancaster County closed earlier this year to prepare for the large store next year.

Owner Zac Gieg appeared on the Netflix series “King of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch” in June, where he displayed two extremely rare and sought-after Nintendo games. One of those games, a factory-sealed Super Mario Bros. game with a hanger tab, was auctioned off at Goldin Auctions’ pop culture and entertainment auction in November, where it sold for more than $230,000, according to Gieg.

The money will be used to finance the large retail store.

“This is the most ambitious undertaking of my life and I will do anything to make it happen – even on television,” Gieg said in a press release. “I’ve always wanted Just Press Play to go beyond in-store shopping and become a larger-than-life experience. I want people to feel a sense of wonder, like they’re walking into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, walking in and saying ‘Wow!’ and forgetting they’re in a store. This is my dream and we’re really letting our imaginations run wild.”
