Indiana Township Pizzeria Sells $214 Million Powerball Ticket

Indiana Township Pizzeria Sells 4 Million Powerball Ticket

Someone is $214 million richer after buying a jackpot-winning Powerball ticket at an Indiana Township pizzeria.

The ticket, sold Monday at AJ’s Pizza on Harts Run Road, matched all five white balls drawn, 9-22-57-67-68, and the red Powerball 14.

The shop owner, Jinal Pandit, was shocked to hear that he would take home a reward of $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.

“Really? I had no idea!” said Pandit. “That’s pretty awesome.”

Pandit has owned the store on the corner of Harts Run Road for about four years and said the Pennsylvania Lottery draws a steady stream of customers. He doesn’t know who bought the jackpot winner.

“I hope it’s someone who needs it and deserves it,” he said.

The winners have one year to claim their money.

The buyer can demand an annual payout of $214 million or a lump sum payment of $106 million.

The jackpot has been running since July 3, when the last winner in Ohio took home $139 million.

“The Pennsylvania Lottery congratulates the lucky winner and our retailer,” said Drew Svitko, the lottery’s executive director, in a press release.

Monday’s win was the sixth Powerball jackpot this year and the 20th in Pennsylvania since the game was introduced in 1992.

The last time a Powerball ticket with a jackpot was sold in Pennsylvania was in August 2022, when the Sheetz in New Stanton sold a ticket with a jackpot of $207 million.
