Texas has some of the best Six Flags parks, according to analysis

Several Six Flags locations in Texas scored well in a value-for-money analysis, with a water park in the Lone Star State topping the list.

Software company QRFY evaluated Six Flags’ theme and water parks based on criteria such as ticket price, food and parking costs, attendance and wait times. The analysis used data from Six Flags itself and the queue estimation website Queue Times, which is based on the theme parks’ official apps.

“During the summer, theme parks turn into busy, crowded arenas,” said Marc Porcar, CEO of QRFY, in a press release. “Families can turn potential stress into unforgettable memories by comparing ticket prices, exploring different parks and considering visitor numbers.”

Rated the best value for money of all Six Flags water parks, Hurricane Harbor Splashtown in Texas is located in the city of Spring, just over 20 miles north of Houston.

Admission to the 48-acre park is $59.99 and parking is $20. Reserved lounge seating starts at $29.99 and private cabanas start at $99.99 each.

Hurricane Harbor Arlington in Dallas-Fort Worth also made the top 10 water park list, coming in fifth. Admission is $69.99 and parking is $37. Reserved lounge seating starts at $50 and private cabanas start at $225 each.

Two Texas locations also made the top 10 Six Flags theme parks with the best value. Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio came in fifth with an admission price of $89.99 and a park price of $37. Regular flash passes cost $45 and access to Hurricane Harbor San Antonio costs $9.

Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington came in eighth. Admission costs $89.99 and parking is $45. Regular flash passes cost $45, while access to Hurricane Harbor Arlington is not offered. However, this location has shorter average wait times and fewer visitors in the summer than Fiesta Texas.

All locations are subject to online admission discounts and additional service rates, which vary depending on the date of visit.

Following a merger with rival Cedar Fair in 2024, Six Flags now operates nearly 50 amusement and water parks across North America. Texas has the second most locations with six, followed by California with seven.
