50-year-old woman robbed while leaving a subway station in New York

NEW YORK, NY – The New York Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a grand larceny in the 110th Precinct.

According to police reports, a 50-year-old woman was on the escalator at the 74th Street subway station around 7 p.m. on Sunday when an unknown woman approached her. The suspect stole the victim’s cell phone, wallet, a credit card and $300 in cash from her backpack and fled the scene.

The suspect was last seen boarding a northbound E train. The victim was not injured in the incident.

The NYPD has released media with the suspect’s picture and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

    The victim was shot once in the left hip and once in the right thigh. He was transported by Medic 8 to Temple Hospital where he is currently in stable condition. Authorities reported that no crime scene was seized and no weapons or suspects are currently in custody.

  • Trenton teacher had affair with middle school student during high school

    TRENTON, NJ — A former teacher and basketball coach has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault spanning several years, according to Mercer County Assistant Prosecutor Theresa L. Hilton and Trenton Police Director Steve Wilson.

    Darrell R. Moody, 51, of Plainfield, NJ, was taken into custody in Trenton on Monday. He faces charges including first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault, multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

    The Mercer County District Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to remand Moody in custody.

    The charges stem from incidents reported in May, when the victim contacted Trenton police and alleged sexual abuse that began in middle school and continued throughout high school.

    Moody, who met the victim while teaching fifth grade at Parker Elementary School, is alleged to have abused the victim for several years.

    During this time, Moody also served as a basketball coach at Joyce Kilmer Middle School.

    In a separate incident, Moody was charged by South Plainfield Police on June 27, 2023 with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree solicitation of a minor to engage in prostitution.
