Noblesville City Council takes first step toward approving million mixed-use project • Latest Release

The Noblesville City Council on August 13 passed a resolution for an economic development agreement for a $67 million mixed-use project called “The Granary” along the new Pleasant Street Corridor.

According to Lexie Rock, Noblesville’s communications director, this is the first step in the approval process for the development, which will go before the Redevelopment Commission on August 15.

“There will be a phase where the (economic development agreement) and design/engineering are finalized, then it will go back to council for incentive approval and zoning approval again,” Rock said.

The project, a partnership with developer Flaherty & Collins, spans about 1.2 acres between South 8th and South 9th streets. It includes a four-story mixed-use building and parking garage with 225 luxury apartments, 5,000 square feet of commercial space and about 300 parking spaces for residents and the public.

The southern portion of the development will include a trailhead for the Midland Trace and Nickel Plate hiking trails with public restrooms and lockers. The Granary will also feature amenities such as a saltwater pool and aqua lounge, co-working spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center and more.

According to Rock, the Pleasant Street Corridor, where the development will be located, is part of the Reimagine Pleasant Street project, a multi-year initiative to improve east-west connectivity and accessibility in the city of Noblesville.
