DEARBORN, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) – Dearborn police are searching for suspects who allegedly robbed a jewelry store last week.
The robbery occurred on August 7 around 5:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of Schaefer. No one was injured, according to police.
According to police, two masked men with guns entered the store and ordered employees and customers to lie on the floor. One suspect threatened everyone with a gun while the other began packing several items into a bag.
The police did not initially know which items had been stolen.
The suspect was leaving the store when an employee shot him. Police say they fled in a black sedan, possibly a 2011-2013 Mazda 3, with paint peeling off the hood and trunk.
“The Dearborn Police Department will vigorously investigate this crime and utilize all available resources to bring these suspects to justice. We urge the public to come forward and provide any information that will assist in the investigation,” Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said in a statement.
Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call Sergeant Jamison Carpenter at 313-943-2041 or [email protected]. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers at 800-Speak Up.
