Google also mentions that if you buy the phone, you’ll get a year of Google’s Gemini Advanced AI service for free, a $239 value, but a look at the fine print shows that this deal is valid well into 2025, so it’s not exactly a pre-order deal.

When you add up all the potential savings, you can get the phone for practically free, especially if you count the credit as a discount on the phone. Here are the deals for each phone, as well as an overview of what you can expect to pay for each phone:

Why you should buy the Google Pixel 9

The Google Pixel 9 series is Google’s latest line of phones, due out later this month or in September, depending on the model. We’ve been following the phone closely and already know exactly what to expect from the Google Pixel 9 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, but we also had the chance to go hands-on with the series ourselves to do a real user review of the phone. In our look at the Pixel 9 phones, we found that they have incredible displays and that the photography features are fun and easy to use, including the new “Add Me” feature to add the photographer to a group photo by taking a separate photo of them. The new AI features were also handy to use: screenshots can be analyzed by the system, so you get information directly when you ask for it, rather than having to search for the screenshot again.

Of course, the big Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the model you’d be most hesitant to pre-order given the price. However, our review of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold should largely allay those fears. Our reviewer predicts it could easily be one of the best folding phones of the year, even beating the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 due to its reduced glare, AI features, and fun little touches like “Made You Look,” which draws children’s eyes to the camera when you want to take a photo of them. We’re excited to see how our opinion changes once we’ve spent more time with the phone.
