Sunbelt Rentals will open a new showcase property for its film and television business in the UK, the company announced.

The 16,400 m² facility is located in Wembley, just outside central London.

Once opened, it will be the company’s largest operating centre, supplying London and the South East with everything from cameras and cranes to site lighting and access equipment.

In addition, the company will offer its wider range of equipment, including specialist services in power supply, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and external training services.

Sunbelt said it will be “the epicenter” of its range of sustainable net-zero and low-carbon equipment solutions, providing clean energy and sustainable site services.

It added that the facility will ensure that customers “get everything they need, with unrivalled efficiency and sustainability at the heart of the offering.”

Mike Pollard, Managing Director of Film & TV, Sunbelt Rentals, said: “The scale of the new site means we can offer our clients an exceptional experience. As well as the extensive warehouse and range of specialist equipment, clients can also use our test rooms, cinema, creative hub and meeting rooms for enhanced creative collaboration.”

Phil Parker of Sunbelt Rentals added: “The West London facility is one of our flagship film and TV facilities and we look forward to welcoming new and existing customers to explore the extensive range of rental equipment available, whilst also highlighting some of the sustainable design decisions that have gone into the new building.

“This facility represents increased local employment opportunities, sustainable practices and an exceptional customer experience, which aligns with Sunbelt Rentals 4.0’s strategic growth strategy.”

Sunbelt’s UK film and television business has experienced significant growth in recent years through acquisitions and fleet expansion.

In 2022, it acquired specialist television and film distribution company Media Access Solutions, lens and grip rental company Movietech and Manchester-based lighting specialist PKE Lighting.

In November last year, the company also acquired camera and equipment rental company Acorn Film & Video.

In terms of equipment, the company has expanded its fleet to include more crane services and telehandlers than before, making it one of the largest fleets in the UK, according to the company.
