A company affiliated with Arnold’s Country Kitchen, a popular Gulch-based meat and sausage maker, plans to open a sister restaurant in North Nashville.
In June, Arnold’s Fried Chicken Holdings LLC paid $625,000 for a property in 1110 Buchanan St. The seller was Bon Urban Properties II, which paid $89,900 for the property in 2014. Bon Urban Properties II is owned by Kelly Bonadies, who previously considered redeveloping several buildings on Buchanan Street (a plan that apparently never came to fruition) and, according to sources, still hopes to do work on the street.
Arnold’s Fried Chicken Holdings LLC shares an address with Music Row Developments LLC, which includes business partners Moni Advani and Kevin Woods. Advani and business partner Nishaan Chavda recently opened the Chinese-American restaurant Choy in North Gulch (read Here). Music Row Developments LLC owns several properties in Music Row.
Khalil Arnold told the post The future restaurant, whose name has not yet been finalized, will feature some of Arnold’s signature dishes. However, there will be no cafeteria-style food. Arnold said the Southern-style food will be brought to guests’ tables.
“I’ll be able to be a little more creative with the menu,” Arnold said, adding that the team isn’t ready to announce an opening date yet.
The building in which the future restaurant will operate is currently not rented.
“We may even have a drive-thru,” Arnold said, adding that Edgar Pendley (Urban Grub and Buttermilk Ranch) is helping create the space and design the kitchen. Pendley will not be an owner of the business.
Arnold said he and Advani originally had their eye on a chicken restaurant.
“After realizing that Arnold’s has so many positive aspects, I have to give up some of the dishes,” Arnold said.
There are several restaurants on Buchanan Street, the most famous of which is probably Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria.
As the Post reported in March, Khalil Arnold decided to keep Arnold’s Country Kitchen open for the foreseeable future after originally planning to reopen on a temporary basis earlier this year.
Rose Arnold (Khalil’s mother) owns the 0.47-acre property through Arnold Real Properties LLC. The LLC (which included the late Jack Arnold) paid $921,780 for the property in October 2012, Metro records show.
As post As reported in November 2023, an attempt to sell the property to local development company SomeraRoad was scrapped – and the property was re-listed for sale at an undisclosed price. The three-lot property features the primary address of 605 Eighth Ave. S.
Arnold’s was a fixture in the city’s meat-and-three community for about 40 years. It closed in January 2023 and reopened for lunch service starting January 8 of this year.
