Emissions increase at oil and gas operators in the Midwest

Emissions increase at oil and gas operators in the Midwest

Houston, Aug. 14, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Midwest oil and gas operators achieve better emissions standards thanks to new alliance

Houston, Texas (August 14, 2024) – Fluenta, a global leader in the development of ultrasonic sensor technology for flare gas measurement, is expanding its customer offerings by appointing Pioneer Industrial as its exclusive distributor in 12 U.S. states. With new Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regulations set to take effect before the end of this year, Fluenta’s flare gas measurement solutions are an important building block for compliance.

The launch of MethaneSat earlier this year and the increased focus on flare emissions are putting operators around the world in the spotlight. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), along with several federal agencies, including the BLM, are taking the lead in ensuring that all elements of energy production minimize their environmental impacts. Accurately measuring flare gas and applying the latest knowledge on combustion efficiency and methane slip is critical to this.

To deliver its best-in-class solutions, Fluenta has partnered with distribution partners across the United States, most recently adding Pioneer Industrial Corp., a leading industrial solutions provider. This partnership spans 12 key states: Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Western Kentucky, Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Minnesota.

Operators in these states now have access to Fluenta’s innovative flare gas measurement technology and Pioneer’s established support network. This collaboration ensures operators can accurately measure and report emissions and supports them in their efforts to comply with these evolving regulations. By having local representation, operators receive timely and expert support tailored to their specific needs.

Julian Dudley-Smith, Managing Director of Fluenta, said, “Partnering with Pioneer Industrial Corp. will enable us to better support operators in the Midwest with advanced flare gas measurement solutions. Pioneer’s deep industry knowledge and robust service infrastructure are a perfect fit with our mission to help operators comply with stringent environmental regulations and advance decarbonization efforts.”

Chris Gugler, director of environmental, process and safety instruments at Pioneer Industrial Corp., added, “This collaboration is an important step in providing our customers with best-in-class solutions that meet evolving environmental standards. We are committed to helping the region’s oil, gas and petrochemical industries achieve their sustainability goals while maintaining operational excellence.”

This partnership is timely and crucial given the ongoing climate crisis and the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP), which is expected to see renewed commitments to limit methane emissions and increase investment support.
