Man arrested after stabbing outside Lincoln subway station

LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – Lincoln police have arrested the man suspected of stabbing someone during an argument outside a gas station.

On July 13, Lincoln Police responded to a report of a stabbing outside the U-Stop near 27th and E Streets at around 1:25 p.m.

Police spoke to a 33-year-old male victim who reported he went to the gas station after receiving an alarming text message from his girlfriend.

Police wrote that when the victim arrived at the gas station, he saw his girlfriend coming out of the store with 32-year-old Brandon Woodside. The two men knew each other, according to the affidavit.

Police wrote that Woodside was upset about a personal matter with the victim and confronted him.

The victim told police that Woodside pulled out a knife and began chasing him outside the U-Stop. During the argument, Woodside ran toward him and stabbed him in the left side of his back, police wrote.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The LPD later reviewed surveillance video of the argument and wrote that it was consistent with the victim’s statement.

Woodside was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of second-degree assault. His bail was set at 10% of $25,000. He is scheduled to appear in court again on September 12.
