BOSTON, MA– An early morning stabbing in Boston’s Downtown Crossing neighborhood has led to the arrest of a local man.

Officers from the Boston Police Department arrived at the scene at the intersection of Washington and Winter Streets at approximately 8:13 a.m. and found an adult male victim with multiple stab wounds in front of 10 Winter Place.

The victim was treated immediately at the scene and transported to a local hospital by Boston Emergency Medical Services with initially life-threatening injuries. His condition has since improved and he is now expected to survive. After the victim’s condition stabilized, the case was returned to Area A-1 Detectives for further investigation.

Calvin Spencer, 33, of Boston, was arrested at the scene on outstanding warrants related to previous offenses, including theft over $250 and failure to register as a sex offender.

Further investigation linked him directly to the stabbing, and he is now charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Spencer is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Thursday.

BROOKLYN PARK, MD— Northern District detectives are currently investigating an incident involving a 2010 Dodge Ram where the windshield was damaged by a fired projectile. The damage was reported at approximately 4:30 p.m. on August 13, 2024, at the intersection of Upland Road and Cedar Hill Road in Brooklyn Park.

Officers arriving at the scene confirmed that the damage to the vehicle’s windshield was caused by a projectile fired sometime between August 11 and August 13, 2024. The incident did not result in any physical injuries, but raised concerns about public safety and property damage in the area.

BROOKLYN, NY— A member of a Brooklyn street gang has been charged with the murder of 13-year-old Troy Gill, who was shot to death in Crown Heights earlier this year.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced that 21-year-old Jared McCauley, known as Jah Woo, was arraigned today on charges related to the February incident that tragically ended the young teenager’s life.

The indictment, which also involves co-defendant Sheik Koureichi, includes counts of second-degree premeditated murder, second-degree illegal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment. Both suspects are being held without bail and are scheduled to appear in court on August 16.

According to prosecutors, McCauley and Koureichi were allegedly targeting members of a rival gang on the night of February 29 when they encountered Troy Gill on Bergen Street near New York Avenue.

Gill, who had just left a Nets game at Barclays Center, was shot on his way home and later died at Kings County Hospital from gunshot wounds to his back and arm.

The violence continued that evening when the defendants allegedly shot the front door of a home associated with the Drench street gang in East New York. This was the beginning of a series of retaliatory violence against other gang members in connection with an earlier kidnapping and beating of McCauley by rival gang members.
