NATCHEZ — Thanks to quick action by the Natchez Fire Department, a mobile home was saved from being destroyed by a truck fire on Wednesday evening around 7:40 p.m.
The truck was parked near a mobile home at 16 Frederick Road in the Plantation Mobile Home Park off U.S. 61 south of Natchez.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said the fire spread to the outside of the mobile home.
“The fire department responded quickly and saved the house,” Patten said. “People should be aware that it is extremely dry.”
Darryl Smith, Adams County Fire Department coordinator, has asked residents not to burn anything until the dry conditions change.
