Mesa Bookstore’s Fantastic Annual Celebration

It’s time again for the impressive Mesa Bookstore Party and Sale!

This year, in addition to the many books we offer for sale, we are also pleased to welcome three very successful children’s book authors from Santa Barbara as guests.

Nikki Barthelmess, who has written three poignant coming-of-age novels, including The peace that you carry within you(Flux, 2020);

Ana Ellickson, author of the recently published fantasy adventure The missing station (Harry N. Abrams, 2024), set in San Francisco and its eerie undercity;

and Lauren Munoz, who has courageously written a crime novel for today’s young audience, Suddenly a murder(Putnam, 2024.)

Watch and hear all three authors at 2:30pm for a panel discussion on the joys and perils of contemporary publishing.

Our sunny afternoon of entertainment kicks off at 1pm with Chucamit our favorite Jarocho Son Musicians. The celebrations will conclude with the return of Lark Batteau, exceptional chanson singer and author of the great memoirs Lark ascending. Of course, hundreds of used books will be for sale for one, two, three and five dollars. Cookies, coffee and lots of dad jokes will be provided free of charge.
