During a press conference Wednesday morning at Jackson Medgar-Wiley Evers International Airport, LaShundre Reeves and K9 partner Bruno thanked officers there for the opportunity to help make the airport a safe environment.

Reeves, along with her canine partner Bruno, and Michael Mabry, along with his canine partner Dallas, are two members of a three-person team of Transportation Security Specialists-Explosive Detection Dogs (TSS-EDCH) deployed to enhance airport security.

Reeves rose to the ranks after a stint as a transportation security officer in Atlanta. She and Bruno completed their training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, in 2017. Before their recent transfer to Jackson Airport, Reeves and Bruno worked as security guards for various airports across the country and for major events such as the Super Bowl, Formula 1, the Indy 500 and the NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Mabry began his TSA career in 2021 at Hattiesburg-Laurel Regional Airport as a Transportation Security Administration officer. He was hired as an explosive detection dog handler in 2023 and, like Reeves, completed his training at Lackland Air Force Base’s Canine Handler Training Center. He also joined the Mississippi Army National Guard in 2010 and served in the military police.
