With this workaround you can also use Apple Intelligence in countries outside the USA

Apple announced and released Apple Intelligence to developers at its WWDC event, and the service received a pretty good response overall. The platform doesn’t revolve around a single language model, but works with several, big and small, that work together on different fronts of iOS. For example, ChatGPT integration is available with Siri, but not the rest of the operating system, showing that the company is taking a multimodal approach. Initially, Apple Intelligence was only supposed to be available in the US, but if you’re interested, there’s a workaround that will allow you to use the service in other countries.

How to enable Apple Intelligence in countries where it is not currently supported

At launch, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be able to use Apple Intelligence, but the iPhone 16 line will also be able to use the service. You have the option to use Apple Intelligence in other countries outside the United States using a simple workaround. All you need to do is change the location or region settings on your iPhone or iPad and you’re good to go. If you’re not sure how to do this, we’ve created a step-by-step guide that will allow you to use Apple Intelligence in other countries.

Before you proceed, you need to meet a few prerequisites. The first thing you need to do is install the latest iOS 18.1 beta, which includes the Apple Intelligence features. Note that if you are running the iOS 18 beta, you will not be able to use the service. If you are running the latest iOS 18.1 beta, follow the instructions below carefully.

Step 1: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone and go to General > Language & Region.

Step 2: Tap Add language and select English (US).

Step 3: Now tap region and select United States. (The change will not affect your Apple Store regions or purchases.)

Step 4: Back to Settings and go to Apple Intelligence and Siri.

Step 5: Tap Language and select English (US).

Step 6: Then tap Join the Applr Intelligence Waiting List.

Step 7: You have to wait a while until Apple Intelligence is activated. After a while, the message changes to Enable Apple Intelligence.

How to enable Apple Intelligence in countries outside the US

That’s all you need to do to enable Apple Intelligence on your iPhone if you live outside the US. The process is pretty simple and essentially tells Apple’s servers that the iPhone you’re using is located in the US. You’ll be able to take advantage of all the latest Apple Intelligence features that Apple added in the first beta of iOS 18.1. Later, in subsequent beta builds, the company will add more features for testing before officially rolling it out to the general public.
