Abiotic factor is a unique sci-fi survival game where crafting is the key to survival. As players try to understand the catastrophic meltdown of an underground research facility, they will encounter all sorts of characters and creatures along the way. As such, it will be necessary to craft various items, from weapons to workbenches, in order to survive.

The game also includes a number of survival elements, allowing players to use many craftable items, including furniture, to meet these special needs. Furniture items and workbenches can be crafted as usual from the player’s inventory, but some may need to be plugged into an electrical outlet to function properly.

7 Makeshift toilet

Otherwise, their movement speed will be reduced and they will eventually defecate on the ground, attracting hostile creatures. Therefore, it is good to have a portable toilet on hand in such desperate situations.

To create the makeshift toilet, players will need to gather various materials, but they are relatively easy to find. Players can pick up plastic buckets anywhere in the facility, especially in janitorial or storage rooms. Rebar can be found in the manufacturing sector, and fabric scraps are scattered throughout.

6 Makeshift bed

An essential item for any recovery support base

Rest is another important component of survival in Abiotic factor. Players can rest to restore health, which can be especially useful when medical supplies are low. The makeshift bed provides a great way to restore health in almost any location.

The materials to craft it are easy to obtain and can be found primarily in office areas like those on Level 2. Once the bed is complete, players can pack it up and take it anywhere, but make sure to set it up in a safe location.

5 Distribution panel

A useful technology for inventory management

The Distribution Pad is a useful tool when it comes to managing inventory items and freeing up space for new objects and materials. It is designed to distribute excess materials into nearby storage containers, allowing players to keep only one of each item and then discard it when needed.

Crafting the Distribution Pad is no easy feat. Players must defeat and slaughter an Exor to obtain its heart. Additionally, crafting 4 Energy Bricks can take a while, and the Memory Brick also requires rare crafting materials.

4 Transmogrifier

Allows players to change their appearance and maintain stats

Throughout the GATE Cascade research facility, players will find all sorts of clothing and armor items to equip. Each item brings unique stat enhancements and effects. The Transmogrifier allows players to change the appearance of an item without losing its stats. For example, a chef’s hat can become as hard and durable as a metal helmet.

While metal scrap and wooden planks shouldn’t be too hard to come by, energy cells and anomalies are rarer. Players can find several energy cells throughout the facility, mainly in the manufacturing sector. Anomalies can be found throughout the facility, but you’ll need a test tube to catch them.

3 Chef’s Counter

A high-quality cooking station for demanding recipes

Manufacturing materials:

• 4x scrap metal
• 4x Any Pipe
• 2x power supply

The Chef’s Counter is a craftable workbench where players can craft any learned recipes and cut up fish. This is very useful in any permanently built base. Given the availability of the materials, crafting is relatively easy.

To survive for any length of time, players must be well fed, as food is scarce in many parts of the game world. Pipes, planks, and scrap metal are easy to find. However, to obtain a power supply, players must destroy computers and retrieve them.

2 Repair and salvage station

A significant time saver for material management

Manufacturing materials:

• 6x adhesive tape
• 2x coil
• 1x anvil
• 2x metal tube

The Repair and Salvage Station allows players to quickly repair items and find the materials needed to do so. It must be built near a crafting station for it to work. Once it is set up, players can restore the durability of weapons and armor or salvage component materials from larger items.

While this may not be the immediate priority, it soon becomes clear that inventory management is essential to a successful run. All materials are easy to obtain, with the exception of the anvil, which is found in the manufacturing sector.

1 Workbench

The most important item players can build

The workbench is by far the most important piece of deployable equipment that players can craft Abiotic factor. It needs to be placed near an electrical outlet for it to work, but once it’s running, players can use it to craft a number of new items.

It is also worth noting that all items, including workbenches, can be packed and transported as part of the player’s inventory, which is especially useful for the workbench. All the materials needed are very easily accessible and can be found in the early game area.
