Cold Stone Creamery’s second location in Arlington has started serving scoops.

The ice cream parlor, located at 3141 Langston Blvd., opened its doors Monday at the Lyon Village Shopping Center, seven months after announcing plans to open there.

Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the ice cream parlor offers a wide selection of basic flavors. Customers can choose from over 15 individual “toppings” that are mixed into the ice cream on an ice-cold surface.

The eatery has a small number of tables for guests who want to eat in. Ice cream sandwiches and other pre-packaged foods can be purchased from the store’s freezer. Cold Stone also offers shakes, smoothies and cakes.

In January, franchisee Mohammed Haque told ARLnow he hoped to open the business sometime after May. The location was previously part of a bank and had to be demolished inside to be converted into an ice cream shop, according to permit documents.

Cold Stone’s other Arlington location is at 2200 Crystal Drive in Crystal City.
