Romulus Rotten Tomatoes score shows the best in the franchise since Aliens

The ratings are out for Alien: Romulus and the Rotten tomatoes Score shows that this is the best result in the franchise since Aliens. Not every critic is 100% on board with the film, although some are very positive. There are also some criticisms, many critics seem to feel that the third act let the film down. No spoilers have come out yet, but it seems that the third act contains some moments that take the franchise in a new direction. Not everyone seems to think it worked.

On the plus side, the use of practical effects where possible and the aesthetics/atmosphere seem to be something positive. Many compare it to what Ridley Scott chose for the original. ForeignerBut we also know that this film contains some elements of Aliens too. They have weapons for one.

While most of the cast is expendable, the two main characters get a lot of praise. Rain (Cailee Spaeny) and Andy (David Jonnson) seem to have been liked by most critics. The rest, not so much, but then again, we really need some red shirts in this kind of movie.

As for the general criticisms? There seems to be a lot of nostalgia in this film, which is the current trend in Hollywood. I’ve heard that some of these scenes don’t make sense, as they were Aliens. For example, there are lines here that are taken directly from the sequel. Of course, some critics thought that was too much. Others liked the nostalgia trip, maybe it depends on what you think of other nostalgic films?

Then there’s the third act, which some liked and some didn’t. I guess this part will be a little subjective. I won’t say too much about it, there are some hints as to what happens, but I think I’ll just wait and see.

Be that as it may, the film now stands at 83% positive RT. This makes it the third highest rated Foreigner Film outside of the first two. That certainly sounds better than Alien: Covenantwhat is most likely Foreigner the fans just didn’t like it. I didn’t like it either.
