The new downtown Bangor store, which sells smoothies, cold-pressed juices and other healthy foods, opens Friday.
Mainely Juice, at 34 Main St., offers juices, smoothies, wellness shots, salads, acai bowls, matcha, flatbreads and wraps, according to founders Justin Dyer and Andrew Davis. Items from local vendors like bagels from Orono-based Bill’s Bagels and coffee from Winterport-based Farm House Coffee Roasters are also on the menu.
The store underwent a final inspection on Thursday before celebrating its grand opening on Friday, August 16. According to the company’s website, it will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Davis and Dyer started the business after noticing that health-conscious juice and smoothie shops were becoming increasingly popular in southern Maine and throughout New England, but had not yet reached Bangor.
Business partners also feel that people are becoming more health conscious and there is a growing demand across the state for fresh, nutritious food made from locally sourced ingredients.
Dyer is the founder and owner of The Imperial Connection, a medical marijuana dispensary on Bangor Mall Boulevard, while Mainely Juice is Davis’ first business venture.
