Downtown Sellersville grows: Plant shop and soda bar open on Main Street

Two women-owned businesses are setting up shop in downtown Sellersville and hosting a joint grand opening celebration Saturday.

Just One More Plant, a boutique houseplant shop relocating from Quakertown, and The Fizzy Fern, a brand new gourmet soda and beverage bar, will join the city’s growing cultural district, taking over the former Pickers Junction space on North Main Street.

The Fizzy Fern is located in the plant shop where customers can sit and enjoy a sip or beverage while exploring the shop.

Just One More Plant specializes in houseplants, including rare tropical plants, succulents and easy-care plants for beginners, as well as pottery and accessories needed to grow and care for healthy plants.

The Quakertown plant shop’s move comes as owner Erin Volovnik enters her fourth year in business.

“We are so excited to be coming to downtown Sellersville and look forward to being able to grow along with the community. We love being in this walkable community and joining the other businesses downtown. We are so excited for this exciting new chapter for us,” said Volovnik.

In addition to its retail offerings, the store hosts horticultural workshops every weekend, giving you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in gardening. Upcoming projects include making your own flower brooms and succulent hangers in the shape of moss moons. A full list of events can be found online.

Looking for ways to round out the overall experience for his customers, Volovnik partnered with longtime employee Kate Garrity to open the craft soda shop at Just One More Plant.

“As we worked together, we bounced ideas off each other and wanted to add another element, so we came up with the drinks bar,” said Garrity. “It’s a unique blend of nature and flavor. We wanted to give people a way to stay longer, experience something and meet friends in a relaxed atmosphere.”
