ELKINS – A Huntington man was arrested and charged with a crime following an incident at a pizzeria in Elkins.

Darien Lee Robles, 27, has been charged with threatening terrorist acts and is being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. Bail was set at $10,000 by Randolph County Judge Ben Shepler.

According to the criminal complaint filed by Patrolman CJ Elmore of the Elkins Police Department, officers responded to a call at Papa John’s restaurant on Monday for a report of “A man who threatens employees and customers.”

Employees reported to police that Robles had entered the restaurant and “began to harass employees and customers alike,” the complaint states. They said Robles was asked to leave and he said he would “Shoot and fight several members who work here.”

They said when Robles left, he was “still shouting at employees and banging on windows”, according to the complaint. Robles is also said to have entered the employees’ vehicles and “Cigarettes, money and tried to trade drugs for food.”

Officials were told Robles “has been here several times to recruit and harass customers and employees,” says the complaint.

Elmore wrote: “This officer believes that Darien Robles knowingly and intentionally threatened to commit a terrorist attack in order to intimidate the civilian population.” in the restaurant.
