How the DNC will affect parking for this weekend’s Bears game – NBC Chicago

The NFL season is fast approaching and the Chicago Bears are preparing for their second of three preseason games. On Saturday afternoon they will host the Cincinnati Bengals in their only home game at Soldier Field.

Although the game takes place before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, the parking situation will be different this weekend due to Soldier Field’s proximity to McCormick Place, where some of the convention’s events are taking place.

No trucks or vehicles larger than cars will be allowed on Stevenson between DuSable Lake Shore Drive and South State Street. The Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard exit from the Stevenson entrance will remain closed, according to the Bears.

Fans are encouraged to download the Chicago OEMC app and the Bears official app for additional game day information.

According to OEMC, the following streets are closed near McCormick Place:

-Indiana Avenue from 18th to E. 24th Place

-Michigan Avenue from 21st to 25th Street

-Cermak Road from Wabash Avenue to MLK Drive

-23rd Street from Wabash Avenue to Indiana Avenue

-Prairie Avenue from Cullerton Street to 24th Place

-24th Street from Wabash Avenue to Indiana Avenue

-Calumet Avenue from Cullerton Street to 24th Place

-24th Place from Wabash Avenue to MLK Drive

-MLK ride from Cermak Road to 25th Street

-E 21st Street closed from S. Michigan Avenue to S. Calumet Avenue.

– E 21st St is open west of S Michigan Avenue to and including S Wabash Avenue and E 21st.
