CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri (KBSI) – The manager of Cape Regional Airport is leaving the airport to take a job in Collierville, Tennessee.

Katrina Amos will be the first deputy city manager.

She will begin her new role in September 2024.

Amos managed major projects, including overseeing a $2 million annual budget and managing $30 million in federal grants.

Her leadership skills in contract negotiations, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are considered critical to the success of the City of Cape Girardeau.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Katrina to Collierville,” said Molly Mehner, Collierville City Manager. “Her extensive management experience combined with her strong leadership skills make her an invaluable addition to our team. Katrina’s role will strengthen our staff strength and allow the administration to focus more on long-term strategic planning.”

Amost holds a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is currently completing her Masters in Business Administration/Management and Leadership from Purdue University Global. She is also an AAAE Certified Member (CM) and has served on several boards including the Missouri State Aviation Council and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.

In her new role as Deputy City Manager, Amos will support the City’s long-term strategic planning efforts, work closely with various local and state agencies, and help build innovative partnerships to meet the City’s evolving needs.

“Collierville captured my heart the first time I visited,” said Katrina. “The people, small-town charm and big-city amenities left a lasting impression on me and my family. I knew immediately that this was an area where my family could thrive.”

Amos will move to Collierville with her husband of 22 years, Leroy, and their three children.

“I look forward to working with a great team committed to the mission of improving the quality of life while preserving the charm and values ​​that make Collierville so special,” said Katrina.
