Pro tip: While you may not be getting the latest TV technology in a TV that costs $500 or less, you should still pay attention to the size, display type, resolution, refresh rate, operating system, and the range of features each TV offers to choose the best model for you.

The DU8000 offers a sleek design that looks great on the wall. The display shows more than 1 billion colors and offers HDR support, so you’ll see plenty of detail, contrast, and color accuracy no matter what you’re watching. Display size: 65 inches | Display type: QLED | resolution: 4K | Refresh rate: 60Hz | Operating system: GoogleTV Operating System | Overall dimensions: 56.9 x 32.7 x 2.7 inches (without stand)

Like all the cheaper 4K smart TVs in this overview, this one offers a 60 Hz refresh rate. However, it supports Dolby Vision, HDR Pro+ and Dolby Atmos. It also has a built-in game acceleration mode for gaming.

For an average-sized room – be it a living room, guest room or bedroom – we recommend a 65-inch TV. We like this model because of its frameless design, so it looks great on the wall. Using Quantum Dot technology, the TV can display rich, vibrant and accurate colors that cover almost the entire DCI-P3 color space.

Thanks to the TV’s AI-powered processor, when you watch any type of show, the TV automatically adjusts contrast, color, and clarity to deliver a detailed picture that supports HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG. When you watch an action movie or sports, the TV’s Motion Rate 240 feature is activated to deliver a smooth picture. Based on the technology and features offered, this TCL Smart TV offers really good value for its sub-$500 price tag.
