David Burke, the Hazlet-raised chef of many New Jersey restaurants, planted his flag on the historic Morristown Green in November 2021. (The restaurant made our list of best new restaurants this year.) DJ music often blares in the dramatic, high-ceilinged space. (You can’t hear the Topgolf suites down the hall.) The menu matches the ambience: bold pastas, pizzas and seafood; Burke’s patented salt-cured beef; his chili-sprinkled Hipster Fries and marshmallow-stuffed Cookie Sliders that could slide into your dreams. —KT Harrison

Coniglio’s chemical-free menu enchants with its handmade pizzas, pastas, parmesan, heroes, salads, rosticcerie (Sicilian snacks), breads, bagels, pastries, and vending machine-dispensed Cokes and egg creams. Coniglio, his wife Shealyn (a pizza influencer), and baby Penny commute three minutes on foot across the Morristown Green. “This city is paradise,” he enthuses. And a pizza paradise, too. —KTH
